Key Responsibilities For Retail Sales Associate - Greet customers promptly and courteously, establishing a welcoming atmosphere in the store. - Identify customer needs through active listening and product knowledge, recommending appropriate merchandise and solutions. - Operate point‑of‑sale (POS) systems to process transactions accurately, handle cash, credit, and mobile payments, and issue receipts. - Maintain product displays, stock shelves, and ensure merchandise is correctly priced and labeled in accordance with Home Depot standards. - Conduct inventory counts, receive deliveries, and assist with back‑room organization to support efficient store operations. - Provide expert advice on product specifications, installation requirements, and safety considerations, adhering to Canadian building codes where applicable. - Resolve customer inquiries and complaints professionally, escalating complex issues to the department supervisor when necessary. - Participate in seasonal promotions, sales events, and store training sessions to stay current on product lines and sales techniques. - Uphold all health, safety, and security policies, including proper handling of hazardous materials and emergency procedures.
